It's Sunday and it's time for a rest. Between Graduations, end of the year concerts, gardening, spring cleaning and a whole host of other things, today is the day to slow down and smell the roses. Or re-live your youth as I did today. I spent time lounging on the famous University of Wisconsin Memorial Union Terrace on beautiful Lake Mendota.
At the center of the University of Wisconsin campus is the historic Union building. It is currently in the process of being renovated. Part of the transformation includes the addition of these beautiful tables and chairs. Aren't they yummy colors? They are here in honor of the donors who are contributing to the Union's restoration project called "Mendota Blue".You can read the complete article here:

This is and always has been the hub of the University campus. THE gathering place for thousands of University students to have coffee, refreshments, beer and enjoy the outdoors.
There is even a bandstand where they have outdoor concerts. I am certain that the Union Terrace did not look like this when I was a student 22 years ago. As I recall the chairs were dark green, rusty and full of bird do-do. If The Terrace had been this beautiful, I would have hung out here more. Actually, I never even set foot in this building as a student. The first time I was ever here was last year. Odd, isn't it? Some how I missed out back then.
So today, I made up for lost time by sitting at the lake enjoying the sunshine with my Starbucks Carmel Frappuccino and cranberry scone. It was a place to reflect and plan my week.
I even kicked off my shoes and wiggled my toes. When was the last time you did that? What a way to begin your week. Besides the beautiful chairs, I really enjoyed the view of the Lake.
Only in Wisconsin can you see a view like this.
Happy Sunday!
