Yes, it's early morning. Yes, I skipped day 19 and I really can't count before I have coffee. Yes, I am trying to redeem myself in the world of bloggers. Here it is in a nutshell: the Nutella Sundae.
I am really not much for ice cream. Okay, I never eat ice cream. It's cold, and cold just doesn't agree with me. The dairy thing is beside the point. But, I do have a weakness for sherbet. Yesterday, I gave in to my weakness and bought a pint from Wisconsin's own Cedar Crest dairy. It's orange, I love orange sherbet.
The first thing I did was to dig out my double boiler.
I filled it with two huge tablespoons of Nutella.
Then I added 1/4 cup milk. I would have used cream if I wasn't already out of it. I stirred it over medium heat until it was smooth and creamy. Can you tell where I am going with this?
I actually found my Sundae glass had not yet been packed, so we filled it with the sherbet. Okay, so it was a little soft. And by the time I added the sauce it was just a blob of goo. So my kids had to eat that one for breakfast so I could make another one that would be acceptable to the blog world.
Actually, I think it worked better because we added some sauce at the bottom of the glass, and a few sliced almonds on the top. Then my kids fought over who would get to eat this one for breakfast. I don't remember who won.
Come to think of it, I never even got any. Go figure.
