Faith Stories: What They Don't Tell You About Roe vs Wade

A friend of ours had her high school son do research on the infamous case of Roe vs Wade as a home school project. Roe vs. Wade of course, was the case that legalized abortion in the United States. What he found shocked both of them, it will shock you too. Here are some things no one ever told you about this landmark case.

In June 1969, Norma L McCorvey found out she was pregnant with her third child. She returned to her home state of Texas where her friends advised her to lie and say she was raped in order to obtain an illegal abortion. She tried to obtain the abortion illegally, but the one facility she found had been closed down by the police. She was then referred to attorneys Linda Coffee and Sarah Weddington who began processing her case.

McCorvey ended up giving birth to her child before the case was ever decided. In 1970 the case was filed against the state of Texas by McCorvey's attorneys. They gave McCorvey the alias name of Jane Roe, the attorney for the state of Texas was Henry Wade. The case of Roe vs. Wade began even though McCorvey had already given birth. McCorvey also admitted to attorneys that she was not "raped" but had lied in order to try and get an abortion. The term "rape" was never  mentioned in this case.

As you know the case went all the way to the Supreme Court and in 1971 was still being argued by the seven appointed justices of the time. ALL of them were in favor of voting against the law for various reasons, but the decision was delayed. The case was still in court as of 1973, when it passed along with a similar case in Doe vs. Bolton. Thus abortion was legalized in the USA, even though McCorvey was no longer pregnant, and was no longer seeking an abortion. These facts were over looked believing her to be a "moot" case, and not representing pregnant women.

You all know the current status of this issue today. It is all over everywhere. They teach it in our children's schools, post it on bill boards, advertise abortion on bumper stickers and even tv. But do we know the TRUTH? Or are we all being DECEIVED? Who is the great deceiver? Satan, and he wants you and your children on his side.

A poll taken in 2009 showed that LESS than 37 percent of Americans believe abortion should be legal. The majority of the American people are against legal abortion. So why can't we change it? There is another player in the game, one we can't see. He is Satan, the great deceiver.

What ever happened to Norma McCorvey? She became a member of the Pro-Life movement in 1995. In 1998 she testified to Congress against Roe vs Wade. Here are her own words:

It was my pseudonym, Jane Roe, which had been used to create the "right" to abortion out of legal thin air. But Sarah Weddington and Linda Coffee never told me that what I was signing would allow women to come up to me 15, 20 years later and say, "Thank you for allowing me to have my five or six abortions. Without you, it wouldn't have been possible." Sarah never mentioned women using abortions as a form of birth control. We talked about truly desperate and needy women, not women already wearing maternity clothes."

Mc Corvey continued to try and repeal the Roe vs. Wade decision. In Feb. 2005 the Supreme Court refused to grant a writ of certiorai, and her case ended.

Some states have passed "trigger" laws, in case Roe vs. Wade is overturned, they will not be held accountable for the millions of women who had abortions. Other states never legalized it, but the Supreme Court ruling still stands.

Norma McCorvey has been trying to over turn this decision for years. No one ever tells you that. She was deceived. Can you imagine, the guilt she must carry? How do you explain that to your children? You must admire her persistence in trying to repeal this law. But, we are being deceived on this issue. We have a great opportunity to change the world by educating those around us on the TRUTH. Know what you believe and why you believe it, or you will be deceived.
