We are moving slow today. We were out late last night for a double feature movie, The Hunger Games and then the new sequel, Catching Fire. The boys loved it! Nothing like action films to please the teenage mind. We are lounging about today, slow to begin our tasks.
It also snowed last night. Just a dusting, but enough to remind me that Christmas is just around the corner and I have to get busy with the seasonal decorating.
But, not today.
I have a couple of projects I have been putting off that I need to finish first. The first one, is to rehab the Boys Lounge.
I call it the lounge, because that's essentially what they do there. Lounge around. This room has bothered me from the day we moved in here.
It's an awkward L-shape layout. But what really bothers me, is the odd choice of colors. Baby blue on half the wall, and beige on the other half.
YUCK!
My children are not fussy. They tell me they don't care what color their room is.
I care. I have decided to paint, even though this house is a rental and we don't know how long we are going to be here. I found a gallon of paint goofs on sale at the hardware store.
For $4.00, I am re-painting this room today. I should have the completed reveal for you tomorrow, so stay tuned!
Meanwhile….
Part of the boys room, is a wipe off calendar board. I love these things, a completely re-useable calendar and note board! They use it to keep track of their own activities and homework assignments. Usually. Unless a friend comes and draws on it, and it sits there forever and doesn't get cleaned.
I have seen people throw these boards away when someone writes on them with a permanent marker. Or when erasable markers get left on too long, and they no longer can be erased.
Did you know there is an easy way to clean them?
All you need is rubbing alcohol and some cotton.
Just saturate the board with the alcohol, and wipe it off. It works like a charm, it even takes off permanent markers.
