It seems like so much has happened in the last couple of weeks, I can't decided where to begin telling it all to you. You know we moved, big event in our neck of the woods. We also made time for a family camping trip with friends. There is nothing quite like camping in the summer time. We slipped away to one of Wisconsin's State Parks, Lake Kengosa. It was beautiful.
Hard to believe we are just recovering from the worst drought in 25 years. Everything was so green!
Our campsite was huge! We loved the shade cover. I loved hearing the wind rustling the leaves on the trees at night, it's one of my favorite things about camping.
So is sitting around the campsite eating good food.
Whittling sticks with a pocket knife is also a favorite past time.
Don't forget the great story telling.
And making Pudgy Pies.
We ate, swam, walked, and played games. I love camping. There is something wonderful about having nothing else to do but enjoy good company and the outdoors. All your cares seem to melt away.
Look what's for snack? It involved a certain hazelnut chocolate substance. Big surprise, eh?
\
Munchkins, anyone?
We even attempted to make a batch of cinnamon rolls on the fire. They were slightly burned on the bottom, but................
It's hard not to look at all this and thank the Creator that made it, don't you think? What are your camping stories? Where do you like to camp? I am looking to plan next year's trip............
Happy Sunday!
