A funny thing happened last weekend. Our baby grew up. It creeped up on us, we didn't even really know it was happening. Actually, we did but didn't want to admit it. Okay, I didn't want to admit it. Our son graduated from high school last week. With Honors.
It's hard for a Mamma to have her oldest graduate. I am sure it doesn't get any easier with the younger kids either. Here the proud younger brothers pose with their bro for this special day. This is their "football position pose". It won't be long and they will be graduating as well. I am not sure I am ready for that next phase in life. Who will I home school?
Even though our oldest boy spent several years in a public high school, it seems like he graduated from our home school as well. Although, our home school group has never had a massive graduating class that entirely took over the basketball stadium.
Wouldn't it be fun though? To see the Home School Graduating Class of 2014 in bright lights?
Maybe we should start a movement. If we began now, we could gather enough graduating students to fill the entire dome and have it in bright lights:
I waited patiently for the Lord;
he turned to me and heard my cry.
He lifted me out of the slimy pit,
out of the mud and mire;
he set my feet upon a rock
and gave me a firm place to stand.
He put a new song in my mouth,
a hymn of praise to our God.
Many will see and fear
and put their trust in the Lord.
Psalm 40:1-3
Having a firm place to stand is the key to future success. The men in our family know this. That's my Dad on the right. He's such a proud Grandpa. Put your trust in the Lord my children. He will make all your paths straight.
Pa and Ma and the Grad. The first of many Grads in our family. Sigh.
Hats off to the Graduating Class of 2013!
Do you have a Graduate in your family this year?
Just do what we did and have another one. lol. We have 3 in college, 2 in high school, 1 in middle school and a 3 year old. Okay maybe my "advice" isn't the best for everyone.
