Gifts Wrapped in Glass: Day 22

There are some things in this world that are completely out of your control. If you are like me, you like a certain amount of control, and it's bothersome when you suddenly have no say in what you are trying to control.

For example, when your boys suddenly become men and there are 5 men sharing one bathroom with you.

Out of control!

I have never blogged about our bathroom for this very reason. There isn't much to say.
 It's well, MANLY SMELLING.

Yup, that sums it up.

VERY MANLY.

For today's Gift Wrapped in Glass, I decided to take control of the manly smelling bathroom.

Today's Gift, is the SCENTED DIFFUSER.

This diffuser was easy to make.

You will need Mineral Oil (sold in the paint supply section of Home Depot, marketed as Cutting Board Oil), Vodka, some Orange and Sandal Wood essential oils, a pint sized quilted jelly Mason jar with a frog style lid (from Hobby Lobby) and a handful of wooden skewers.

Here's the proportions:

1/2 cup Mineral Oil
1/4 cup Vodka
.25 oz. Essential Oils

Fill the jar with the above ingredients. Add essential oils. Fasten the frog lid and band on the jar. I cut the sharp end of the skewers off with a scissors so the oils could be easily absorbed into the wood before inserting them through the frog wires.  I used a rather large amount of oils to combat the manliness of our bathroom, but a few drops may work if you don't require such a strong scent. You could use just about any combination of essential oils in your diffuser, feel free to experiment.

After a while, flip the skewers around so the scent is released into the room. I look forward to doing this regularly.

A great gift for those with manly baths.
