The Gifts Wrapped in Glass are still coming! Just a few more days left to this series, I am ready for a break, but I have saved some of my most exciting projects for last!
Today's Gift is The Mason Jar Soap Dispenser!
I realize I am not the first blogger to come up with this idea, many have made beautiful soap dispensers.
I think anyone would love to receive one as a gift.
There is something so sweet and charming about these jars sitting on a counter top.
Time to kiss your ugly soap dispenser GOOD BYE!
This is the new soap dispenser.
I was so inspired by the metallic copper of the paint on my Jar of Roses, that I had to make one more jar. The copper works so well with the brown and teal tones in our bathroom.
I painted a clear glass pint size Mason Jar using the same method as before. Click on the Jar of Roses link for the complete tutorial.
I even re-used the pump from the ugly old jar on the new one, no paint required.
After I painted the jar, lid and band, I used a screw to poke a hole in the center of the jar. A bit of work with the tin snips and I had a hole just the right size for the pump.
The blue pint jar is not old, it's a new one that I purchased from Target.
I used the white plastic pump from another ugly soap dispenser and painted it black along with the jar band and lid. I used heavy duty automotive spray paint for this one, hopefully it will keep it from rusting. I was amazed at how well this paint covered the plastic pump, you would never know it used to be white.
I love the blue colored jar in my kitchen. I think I may need one more dispenser for the guest bath……
Have a wonderful weekend!
