Boys Lounge Reveal

Welcome back to the Boys Lounge Redo project
It's hard not to go crazy and redo everything in this room. Alas, I do have to stay within budget.

I painted the ugly dark blue wall behind the bed a paler shade of grey. This is Benjamin Moore's Mineral Ice. Still, don't love the tonal look with the beige on the other walls but I decided to leave well enough alone. It's really not all that noticeable.

I had intended to paint the entire room, but after I got started I realized how many windows and doors and miles of trim there was for me to have to paint around.

Then I looked up at the ceiling, and it is beige as well. I would have to paint that too. This would take up too much time and money for me at this point, I would rather not make that kind of investment since we aren't sure how long we are going to be at this location.

I did invest in some new bedding from Target, and a few little extras to make this room special for the boys. I am still deciding what to put over the bed.

Our son hopes to be a fireman some day, I found a few cute little inspiring things to make this space his own. The metal sign reads "Real Heroes Don't Wear Capes".

The night stands turned out great, everyone seems to like them including my husband who wondered why in the world I bought them in the first place. You can read more about the Night Stand Redo here

The night stand sports our son's collection of Civil War era bullets, a collectable metal cannon, and some fire fighting. The big initial and fireman's shield make this space special.

Mom of course, couldn't resist adding a bit of Christmas fun with my Mason Jar Snow Globes

The feature wall sports a bit of Christmas fun including my homemade stag head and a groovy Christmas wreath from Target.

More on the stag head project tomorrow...

My wine bottle project from last year works well on the dresser. Here's the Wine Bottle Project.

On this side of the room the drapes were replaced with a more neutral grey color. I am still searching for just the right pictures to go here and there.

The last addition was a big bunch of rope for practicing those complicated fireman knots.

I added some old blue Christmas lights inside the tree to make it glow at night. My little one's favorite goose keeps watch over everything.

On to the next project!

Winner of the iPad Mini Giveaway is yet to come so stay tuned!
